Description

MEGLUXIN is a ready-to-use injection; the active ingredient is Flunixin meglumine, a powerful anti-inflammatory, analgesic and anti-pyretic drug of the NSAID (non-steroid, non-narcotic analgesic) group.

Target Species

Equine, Swine, Bovine, Dogs.

Indications

Equine: Inflammatory processes of the musculoskeletal system, myositis, osteitis, arthritis, tendonitis, synovitis. Colic: for the control of pain associated to colic.

 

Swine: Treatment of the mastitis–metritis–agalactia syndrome. Acute and chronic inflammation of the musculoskeletal system.

Cattle (bovine): Support treatment for acute infections, especially in case of BDR (Bovine Respiratory Disease). Treatment of acute pain caused by injuries, inflammatory processes of the musculoskeletal system, or post-surgical pain. Diarrhea, down-cow syndrome.

Dogs: Inflammatory processes of the musculoskeletal system: myositis, osteitis, arthritis, tendonitis, synovitis.  Treatment of acute pain, including endotoxic shock caused by bacterial or viral infections. Support treatment of canine parvovirosis.

Administration route

Bovine, Equine: intravenous or intramuscular

Swine: intramuscular.

Dogs: Intravenous, intramuscular or subcutaneous.

Dosage

Equine: Colic related pain: 1.1 mg per kilo (equivalent to 2.2 ml/100 kg), intravenous, when symptoms appear. The treatment can be repeated once or twice if symptoms recur. Inflammatory processes of the musculoskeletal system: 1.1 mg per kilo (equivalent to 2.2 ml/100 kg), intravenous, daily, for no more than 5 consecutive days.

Swine: For all indications: 2.2 mg per kilo (equivalent to 4.4 ml/100 kg bw). If necessary, repeat at 24 hours intervals, for no longer than 5 days. Mastitis–metritis–agalactia syndrome (MMA): administer via IM, every 12 hours, with a maximum of two doses.

Cattle (bovine): For all indications: 2.2 mg per kilo (equivalent to 4.4 ml/100 kg bw). If necessary, repeat at 24-hours intervals, for no longer than 5 days. If administered IV, the treatment should not last more than 3 days. Neonate diarrhea: 2-3 ml per calf (only dose).

Dogs: In inflammatory processes of the musculoskeletal system and associated pain, and also in case of endotoxic shock, the dose varies between 1.1 and 2.0 mg/kg bw per day (equivalent to 0.22 ml/10 kg bw/day or 0.40 ml/10 kg bw/day) depending on the severity of the symptoms and the instructions of the veterinarian. The product can be administered for 3 to 5 consecutive days, with equal periods of interruption, or according to the directions of the veterinarian.
